The project for the cultural centre in Jesus was finally unveiled last week. It has been designed by three brothers from Madrid, Gonzalo, Diego and Alfonso Cano Pintos, and a mock-up is currently on display in the municipal offices in the town for the residents to offer their suggestions. A total of 79 different designs were submitted in the Auditorium in Santa Eulalia earlier in the month, and the design by the three brothers, in the form of three different coloured bubbles, was the eventual winner. The panel of judges was made up of invited architects, technicians from the Town Hall and representatives of the various social groups in Jesus. They found the winning design to be very simple and adaptable for all forms of future functions. The architects had used satellite photographs to ensure that the new building blends in with its surroundings.
